Hi, I am Farina,

interaction and immersion designer.

Currently I study communication design at the Braunschweig University of Art with focus on interaction design (UI + UX). I’m really enthusiastic about immersive media like virtual and augmented reality (and 360° videos). I started with hackathons, VR workshops and my first VR project Ana Kalypto which I realized with a classmate. Since then I’m fascinated by the incredible possibilities but also the responsibilities of a complete new medium. It’s necessary to develop new and alternative interaction methods because conventional methods of videos games and movies don’t work anymore. Because I’m so into virtual reality, I work during my studies at the VR arcade VirtuaLounge in Braunschweig.

Addionally, I’m very interested in speculative and critical design. We live in a time of constant changes and developments with far-reaching consequences. I believe that art and design are able to call attention on those changes and developments, can be thought-provoking, and motivate to participation. Therefore I developed a fictional service as my bachelor project which seemingly imitates the user and takes over their activities on social networks with the help of artificial intelligence.
