HBK<\/span> \u2013 ASP<\/span><\/em> is an prin\u00adted chro\u00adni\u00adcle about the twenty-year-old part\u00adnership of Braun\u00adschweig Univer\u00adsity of Art<\/a> in Germany and Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw<\/a>, Poland. The profes\u00adsors of both univer\u00adsi\u00adties orga\u00adni\u00adzed sympo\u00adsi\u00adums, exhi\u00adbi\u00adti\u00adons and work\u00adshops which were often about video art, instal\u00adla\u00adti\u00adons and perfor\u00adman\u00adces that is why there was a lot of video mate\u00adrial. Three fellow students desi\u00adgned the book while it was my task to add this video mate\u00adrial somehow to the book.<\/p>\n

One of the first ideas was to deve\u00adlop an augmen\u00adted reality app but then I focu\u00adsed on combi\u00adning the analo\u00adgue and digi\u00adtal elements in a way in which allo\u00adwed both medi\u00adums to work with their advan\u00adta\u00adges. The ideal solu\u00adtion would be a book with a display to keep the prin\u00adted text read\u00ada\u00adble so we came up with what is alre\u00adady there: the user\u2019s smart\u00adphone.<\/p>\n

The final project is a mobile website (working on almost any device) which allows the user to scan graphi\u00adcal stills prin\u00adted as place\u00adhol\u00adders for videos. After\u00adwards the website auto\u00adma\u00adti\u00adcally plays the video matching to the content of the page and enab\u00adles the user to put his own screen directly into the book watching the video and reading the text side by side.<\/p>\n

Addi\u00adtio\u00adnally we used more digi\u00adtal advan\u00adta\u00adges like choo\u00adsing the language (while the book has German and Polish texts in paral\u00adlel) or adding comments to keep the inter\u00adac\u00adtion and the exchange between students and coun\u00adtries ongo\u00ading.<\/p>\n
