This book doesn\u2019t exist.
\nThis book is an arti\u00adfact from a virtual world.<\/p>\n

Travel\u00adling the earth is more feasi\u00adble than ever but it might become more proble\u00adma\u00adtic in the near future with ongo\u00ading and follo\u00adwing pande\u00admics, climate crisis destroy\u00ading whole areas of land and decli\u00adning fossil fuels. At the same time, virtual reality and the \u2018meta\u00adverse\u2019 are rapidly evol\u00adving. Today, we can visit distant and fantasti\u00adcal digi\u00adtal worlds without even leaving our homes.<\/p>\n

How do we remem\u00adber those places?<\/p>\n

When the Covid-19 pande\u00admic began in 2020, I star\u00adted explo\u00adring and trave\u00adling the virtua\u00adlity. I made new friends there, disco\u00adve\u00adred favo\u00adrite places and expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced things that aren\u2019t possi\u00adble in reality. Whene\u00adver I went there, I took pictures and looking back at them feels like any other collec\u00adtion of photo\u00adgraphs from real events. Are virtual expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces real? Is there anything that makes them less real?<\/p>\n

What if an arti\u00adfi\u00adcial compa\u00adn\u00adion would record those jour\u00adneys? Sorting your photo\u00adgraphs, captu\u00adring them, or even taking own ones? Writing down your perso\u00adnal expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces, proto\u00adcol\u00adling who you were with, and what you saw and talked about? This book is an expe\u00adri\u00adment of what such a jour\u00adnal could look like, taken from the virtual world and placed in the physi\u00adcal one.<\/p>\n

Virtual photos are captu\u00adred with an analo\u00adgue instant picture camera. Compu\u00adter fonts are turned into indi\u00advi\u00addual letters based on my perso\u00adnal hand\u00adwri\u00adting. AI<\/span> gene\u00adra\u00adted text is writ\u00adten down by a machine using a physi\u00adcal ink pen.<\/p>\n
