The global warming and the decline of the Arctic ice are extre\u00admely dange\u00adrous and threa\u00adten\u00ading for our envi\u00adron\u00adment and huma\u00adnity. The aim of the project \u00bb2 455 700 km\u00b2\u00ab was to empha\u00adsize this deve\u00adlop\u00adment and raise aware\u00adness by crea\u00adting some\u00adthing unusual, inte\u00adres\u00adting and easy to under\u00adstand on an emotio\u00adnal level. Based on the data of the Arctic ice, which is fortu\u00adn\u00ada\u00adtely very well inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adted and docu\u00admen\u00adted, we crea\u00adted an artwork combi\u00adning physi\u00adcal, real ice with an abstract data visua\u00adli\u00adza\u00adtion of a 40-year time span star\u00adting in 1979. Four ice blocks cast in the shape of the Arctic with the help of 3D-prin\u00adting illus\u00adtra\u00adted the extreme extents of ten years each. The visi\u00adtors were invi\u00adted to touch the ice and feel the cold. By this, they simul\u00adta\u00adneously trig\u00adge\u00adred a projec\u00adted anima\u00adtion visua\u00adli\u00adzing the arctic\u2019s growing and shrin\u00adking day by day during the corre\u00adspon\u00adding time span. The visi\u00adtors\u2019 touches expe\u00addi\u00adted the natu\u00adral melting of the ice during the exhi\u00adbi\u00adtion time which crea\u00adted a second, actual tempo\u00adral time\u00adline addi\u00adtio\u00adnal to the spatial one.<\/p>\n
